Method

Pour the rum into a Highball glass, then add 3 ice cubes. Stir for 3 seconds. Add the lime juice and cola and stir once. Garnish with the lime wedge.

History

Legend places its creation in Havana around 1900, shortly after Cuban independence, when American soldiers reportedly mixed the newly available Coca-Cola with local rum and toasted "Por Cuba libre" — "for a free Cuba."
